Last Log Drive

Baskatong-Reservoir-northern-part-of-the Gatineau

The last log drive on the Baskatong Reservoir northern part of Gatineau, Quebec. Harvesting of the forest in this region began in 1806. Logs were floated down river to Ottawa and Hull to be processed into lumber, pulp or paper. After 1991 no logs were sent down the Gatineau River – the end of an historic and picturesque transportation mode.

Available as museum-quality archival prints, HD metal, and acrylic facemounts — every piece crafted to order.
